VEXILLA REGIS, Inno, Schola Gregoriana Mediolanensis, Giovanni Vianini, ...

The offertory motet from our Mass today.

  1. Very lovely. Listening to female Gregorian Chant has taken me a little getting used to. For some reason it sounded so much more natural to hear male Gregorian. But I was recently introduced to a CD called "Voices: Chant from Avignon," chant sung by Benedictine Nuns and I loved it. Here is a sample form youtube:

I highly recommend the CD. You can find other pieces on youtube, including an interview with the nuns.

  2. Manny, you must be psychic. I just ordered that Avignon CD this weekend and got notice today that it has been shipped. thanks, I'll check out the clip

  3. Wasn't being psychic one of those Catholic sins? Or was that fortune telling? ;)

Let me know what you think after you've listened to it a few times.
