Holy Mother Clare

“I need to be absolved from my sins, but I do not wish to be absolved from the obligation of following Jesus Christ.”

  1. Oh Anchoress had a nice blog on St. Clare, including pictures of some of her belongings, including her cut hair when she took her vows. Worth a look.

  2. What a beautiful picture of St.Clare! Do you know what Church it's from?

  3. Manny, I'll have to take a look. I don't regularly read the "major" blogs unless someone directs my attention to them. There are so many less-traveled blogs, like Patricia's and Caroline's, that are equally deserving of attention and so few of the major bloggers do anything to help the smaller ones. Just my two cents!

Patricia, unfortunately, I did not note which church that came from. I know it's an American one. If you google images of St. Clare, you'll probably find it.

  4. Hey Joyce, I can't speak for Caroline's excellent blog, but mine is definitely "the one less traveled by.." : )

But thanks to kind people like you who link to me or mention my blog, traffic has picked up significantly over the past month.

In the end, I always know that God will send whomever He wants. And He works through generous people like you. Thanks again!

  5. Patricia, your blog, as Caroline's, stands on its own merit. Whenever I see a new name leave a comment or join my following, I click on that name to see if they, too, have a blog. We all blog for different reasons and it's human nature to want some feedback or interaction. I feel that charity compels me to show another person that simple consideration, so even though the gesture is so rarely reciprocated, it's ok - it's the right thing for me to do, regardless of how others conduct themselves.

Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading the gems that you post. As each of us tries to grow in holiness, you are to be credited for your part in posting beautiful reflections that can only lead us closer to the Lord.

Comments which reflect true Christian charity are always welcome. Comments which attack the Pope, the Church, priests or other bloggers will go in the dustbin, especially if they are anonymous. Thank you and God Bless you!
