You Don't Need to go to Rome to Grow Closer to the Saints

It occurred to me as some of my fellow travelers would fret themselves over whether they would be able to visit this saint's tomb or that saint's shrine that the one sure place to encounter a saint is in the Presence of the Blessed Sacrament.  The Saints enjoy the perpetual company of Our Lord, and where He is, there also are they and His Holy Mother.  This is why I would often feel perfectly content staying behind while the others crowded around a tomb to get a glimpse of a mummified body.  I in no way wish to diminish the sacredness of relics and the importance of venerating the holy ones who went before us.  But at the end of the day, there is no place on earth where we are guaranteed to encounter the Divine than before a tabernacle or monstrance containing the Sacred Body of Christ.

As TN would say, that's all.
