Ciao Italia!

Because I am such a procrastinator, I will most likely be running around like a chicken without a head tonight, so this will be my last "live post" before I depart.  I have left posts for each day up to and including October 1st, the Feast Day of St. Therese.  Hopefully, I didn't mess the novena prayers up too badly.  It was a frustrating exercise to attempt and the closer I got the more I wanted to give up on it, but how could I?

While I'm praying for you, please pray that my family doesn't burn my house down while I'm gone in their attempts to make dinner.  Matt got things together last night as a dry run and he still needs a bit of work. I was thinking of leaving some ready-to-cook meals in those crock pot liners that they'll just be able to toss in the crock pot in the morning and then dispose of the bag after dinner with very little clean-up.   I'll let you know how well that goes.  I can imagine someone forgetting to take the tie off the bag, or put the lid on the crock pot.  Oh me of so little faith!

Thank you for all your prayers and good wishes.  I'm still debating whether I want to drag my laptop with me.  Rebecca wants me to take it so we can Skype.  We'll see.  Please note that if you leave comments, they will not be published until my return.

God Bless!
Joyce

  1. Joyce, don't know when you'll read this, but I can feel your excitement in your post! I'm so happy for you. I'll be praying, as I'm sure all your friends will, that your family can survive without you. Actually, I think Our Lady oversees such things... Having been to Rome, I am so thrilled, knowing some of what you are about to experience.

Thank you for the Novena; I am using it, although I forgot and started a day late!

Ciao! Have the time of your life! : )

  2. Wish we could get packed in your bags! My 2nd son said just the other night, "What I wouldn't give to be back in Rome right now!"

    You are blessed. Enjoy.

  3. Have a wonderful trip! So much to see and do there. You will have to give us a good travelogue when you return! Extra prayers coming your way so the family won't starve while you're gone. There's always fast food or the grocery deli.

  5. Thank you Patricia. Rest assured all of your intentions have been noted. The good vibes you've been sending are much appreciated.

Allison, I wish I could take everyone with me. I would so love to go on a pilgrimage with the folks who share my journey of faith with me on a daily basis. I only hope my Rebecca gets to go someday. The other two have zero interest but I know she'd be in Heaven.

    God Bless!

p.s. - you ladies will appreciate this. I called my mother and she asked me if I had gotten my hair done yet. I was perplexed as I don't recall telling her I had a hair appointment, etc when she said, typical of her, "You mean you're going to Rome with your roots looking like that?" Some things never change!
