Saint Katherine Drexel

I nearly forgot to mention that today is her feast day.  Like Mother Teresa, St. Katherine Drexel had great devotion to Our Lord in both the Blessed Sacrament and in the faces of the poor who she served in her missions. St. Katherine Drexel, pray for us!

"The patient and humble endurance of the cross whatever nature it may be is the highest work we have to do.
Oh, how far I am at 84 years of age from being an image of Jesus in his sacred life on earth!"
- Mother Katharine Drexel

  1. Thanks. Is her name associated with Drexel University? I believe Drexel is in Philly as well.

  2. Yes, she is one of our "Philadelphia Saints" as well as Saint John Neumann. (Which some pronounce Noi-mahn, and that's probably correct, but most of us just say new-men).:)
