I posted something the other day on Charles Untz, a remarkably pious young man who was taken by God at the age of 18. Please read this and pass it along to someone else who may need encouragement on their journey of faith.
Ros, I always think of the way I learned about him. I had already gone to Mass that day, but for some reason, I decided to go again after work, and the priest celebrant used his homily to tell us that Charles' mother had called him earlier in the day. She wanted to let him know of an intercession to Charles that might have resulted in a miraculous cure and that the church might look into the matter. I don't know that they ever did, but I was so touched by the way Father described this young man that I never forgot him or the homily about him. A few times I prayed to him, but it wasn't until this last year that I really stepped up my petitions to him. The Lord puts people like Charles in our midst because He promised to be with us until the end of time. With all of the garbage that's in the news, we need to know about saints like this who withstood the decay and corruption of the world. God Bless
Comments which reflect true Christian charity are always welcome. Comments which attack the Pope, the Church, priests or other bloggers will go in the dustbin, especially if they are anonymous. Thank you and God Bless you!
That gave me the chills, how beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that link. What a wonderful young man. Surely a saint!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this, it is a great encourager for me, spiritually.
