Please keep Cardinal John Foley in your prayers. He is ill with leukemia and anemia and has returned to the Delaware Valley after submitting his resignation to Pope Benedict XVI. You might think of sending Cardinal Foley a card or note at his place of residence, St. Joseph's Villa, which is the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's home for retired or convalescing priests. Because of his illness, the long flights to and from Rome caused the cardinal to develop blood clots in his legs, which is a potentially fatal risk.
Cardinal Foley is a native son who was born and raised in Darby and typical of his good humor, he joked that he is not faking his illness in order to return home. Write to him at:

In my prayers now
ReplyDeleteWill pray right now.
ReplyDeletePeople who request prayer, receive prayer.
ReplyDeleteI know this from personal experience in this blog.
And what goes around, comes around.
The prayer is underway.
A card will take longer as I am not a HallMark person, and would change their advertisement to:
"When you care enough to send the very best, but not enough to write it yourself".
Those personal cards take longer to produce.
Can you tell me his age?
A picture of his parish?
His facial expression that comes to your mind?
His favorite Bible verse?
His family?
His date of ordination?
If you have none, that is okay.
But a personalized card needs details.
And speaking of details, I want to tell you how much I appreciate the new appearance of this blog.
Black on white is so hard to read, and with "spotlights" intermingled, it was a struggle.
Now, it looks as if The Light Of The World has strolled through these archives, and left behind His Light and Glory, for ease of readers to know Him better.
Black letters on white background are a serendipity of improvement to the words produced all along.
Congratulations on your new appearances!
Well Keystone I'm glad you find it easier to read. I had a pretty bad sinus headache all day, and the Imatrex is at work, so I had to put up with it and I was finding too hard to read white type against a blue background. Truthfully, blogger doesn't offer all that many options, or rather, I don't how to utilize what they offer. I think this works much better. Here is a link to some info on Cardinal Foley.
